Winter Coat

Coat- Next / Jumper- Burtons / Jeans- Cheap Mondays / Scarf- Charity Shop / Bag- New Look / Boots- Primark / Belt-Topshop
Seeing as its started to get really chilly and the clocks have gone back it felt the right time to share my new winter coat. It is a lovely black and grey tweed in a boyfriend style which is just what I wanted this year. I finished off the look with black skinny jeans, an oversized jumper, ankle boots and contrasting brown bag and belt. Finally I wore my new faux fur scarf which I bought for £3 recently in a charity shop which is perfect for finishing off most looks and really is warm!

Audrey Glamour

Trousers- Topshop / Turtle neck- H&M / Coat- Ebay / Belt- Primark / Shoes- Accessorize

Another look based around the classic black and white combination. This look inspired by Audrey Hepburn from the film Sabrina when she is wearing the black high neck top and high waisted capri pants. Audrey Hepburn is a very obvious style icon but it is her pure simplistic glamour which inspires me most. For my spin on the look I wore these trousers from Topshop which have a beautiful houndstooth pattern with my black turtle neck tucked in at the waist. I call these trousers but they are rather like leggings except much thicker and they have a zip down the side. But whatever you wish to call them I love the fit and the slightly cropped length. This is another simple outfit yet I like to think it is rather glamorous due to its simplicity and how it highlights your waist perfectly!
I wore this turtle neck in a previous post and I hope with this blog I can show you that items can be worn again and again in so many different ways...

Orange Love...

Coat- Ebay / Skirt- Forever 21 / Scarf- Vintage / Shoes- New Look / Bag- Ted Baker / Earrings- Accessorize
I have had a new love in my life since Monday in the form of this bright orange swing coat. Since it arrived on my doorstep I have not taken it off and have worn it in a number of ways so I thought I would share with you my favourite look so far. I paired the coat with this forever 21 lace pencil skirt and block heeled black ankle boots, adding some height to balance out the volume of the coat. I added a vintage scarf in similar colours and a Ted Baker clutch to add a spot of glamour and finish off the look.
I have been searching for a coat like this for a while and when I came across this coat on Ebay I bidded for it straight away and ended up getting it for just 99p which I could not believe! Although it is such a bright colour I am finding it very versatile and the shape of it is very 1940/50s- my favourite eras. My mission is now to search out more swing coats in different colours!

Leather

Polo top- H&M / Skirt- H&M / Tights- M&S / Shoes- BHS

This although being an all black outfit was a little bit out my normal comfort zone due to the very high neckline and very short hemline. I had not worn a polo neck since I was about eight years old and was stuck with the lovely image of a rather dennis the menace style one I used to own, however I brought this one the other day in H&M and am starting to like them once again. The top is made from a fairly lightweight cotton making it perfect for winter layering under jumpers and dresses in the winter. I also brought this skirt in H&M and fell in love with the leather panels. I had wanted a leather item for my wardrobe for a while but had not found anything that was to the right style or within my budget but this skirt fits right in- at a bargain price of £15 and having slightly more subtle leather side panels.

I put this outfit together with a sixties style in mind yet with a modern twist as I felt like it was rather edgy when I was wearing it. I finished the look with woolen tight- my winter wardrobe must- and mid-heeled court shoes.
Thank you for reading and sorry for some of the overly posey photos!

Made in Chelsea...

Coat- Debenhams / Jeans- H&M / Scarf- New Look / Bag- Vera Moda / Shoes- River Island

My wonderful friend Sarah reading the Jack Wills handbook while drinking hot chocolate on Kings Road Pret a Manger.
As my friend and I had an inset day at school we headed up to London for a day out. We spent the day at the Saatchi Gallery, looking down Kings road (trying to spot someone from Made in Chelsea), having hot chocolate and pancakes and doing a spot of shopping in H&M. I went with one of my oldest and best friends, Sarah and we had a lovely day. I wore high waisted jeans, a black coat with fur cuffs and a chunky black scarf as I have (annoyingly) come out in a cold today so was feel a little worse for wear. This and my sneezing did not ruin the day and I enjoyed the Saatchi very much. I absolutely love wandering round art galleries but hadn't visited the Saatchi before. I loved the minimalist design of the gallery with its pale wood flooring and white walls. The first floor was sadly shut today (reopening tomorrow!) but I especially enjoyed the Katy Grannan pictures in gallery 1, which were beautiful photograph prints of unusual and interesting people.
In Covent Garden we had pancakes in Creme de la Crepe which is my favourite pancake place and is ever so cute hiding in the corner of the Piazza. We also spent ages in H&M where I ended up buying two tops, a polo neck, a pleather paneled skirt and a knitted dress, which I am excited about sharing with you soon!

Trench Coat, Dungarees and a New Smile

Coat- New Look / Dungaree Dress- Made Myself / Top- Charity Shop / Shoes- Accessorize

This is a post to celebrate finally getting my braces off so lots of smiley pictures to come. I am loving having metal free teeth and it has made me more confident so it was definately worth it for my new smile.

This is what I wore today, dungarees, a stripey top and trench coat. I was inspired by Alexa Chung for this look and wanted a chic yet laid back effortless looking outfit, a look I think she always achieves which is one of the things I love most about her style. I also think this dungaree dress, which I made from some left over material I had, has a playful childish side to it which makes me feel instantly happy. However I decided to make the dress more grown up by draping my trench coat over my shoulders, a look I hadn't tried before but now love!
